In the book, Katherine is at her sisters camp volunteering and she is miles away from Michael , the love of her life. Her parents has just called in to tell her that her grandfather passed away.
I think that the relationship between her and Michael is growing weaker even though they both wish that this wasnt true. Katherine has stopped writing letters to Michael and hes worried and Katherine has found someone new at the camp she has been volunteering at. I think that even though she is far from Michael, she should stick to him and only him. I think that Katherine 'loves' Michael but she needs time to think about the relationship from Michaels view. I dont think she isnt really taking him seriously anymore... The beginning of her relationship was okay, then in the middle the 'love' got very strong but now its fading away. I think that Michael wants the relationship to be strong again but Katherine also needs to put effort into this.
When Katherine first met Michael, she probably thought he liked to get around so she didnt really want him but now that she knows ALOT about him, she changed her opinion about him and thinks everything about him is flawless. I think that even though Katherine always tells Michael she doesnt care about him talking to his ex girlfriend, deep down every reader will realize that she cares the most when he talks to his ex girlfriend. I also think that Michael is trying very hard to win Katherines whole heart. But sometimes Katherine needs to cooperate also. This may help their relationship grow into a more complicated one and may last longer than normal relationships with a normal boyfriend that just has a 'crush' on youu .
